Browse and pick
Choose sites, libraries or folders
Tick whole sites, libraries or folders in a browser to say what the version trim should look at. Best for a one-off against a handful of targets. Picking the targets changes nothing on its own.
What it tells you
- Exactly what is in scope, because you can see it and tick it.
- How many items each target holds, before you commit to scanning it.
How it runs
- Tick the targets. Sites, libraries or folders. Select all is available at every level.
- Confirm the selection. Stated back to you before the scan.
- Set the trim rule and continue. Whether this ends as a report or a live trim is a choice you already made on the previous screen.
How it works
Ticking only sets the scope: nothing is read or changed until the run starts. A selection is one kind at a time: whole sites, libraries in one site, or folders in one library. A whole site means every visible document library in it; hidden system libraries are left out. Include subsites, off each time the page opens, widens each ticked site to every subsite below it when the run starts.
Exactly one library or one folder makes a single-target run, which trims as it scans with no preview. More than one target, or any whole site, is previewed first and then removes only what the preview listed.
What you need
- Read access to scan. Write access only if this is a live trim rather than a report.
What it will not do
- For more targets than you want to click through, the CSV path takes a list of URLs instead.
