Advanced Move/Copy

Map columns, many to many

Move or copy many libraries at once and say which column fills which. Each pair is what to copy, where it goes, and its column mapping. The pairs run as ordinary Move / Copy runs, and after the files are copied ShareMaster checks each file's column values and writes the ones that differ.

Makes changes. Each pair runs as a normal Move / Copy, so a MOVE takes items out of the source as Move / Copy does. Column values are then written on the destination files without a new version and without changing Modified or Modified By.

What it does

  • Which source column fills which destination column, with a real value from a source file beside each.
  • Which columns will not be copied, and why (calculated, read-only, or left out by you).
  • Every column line of every pair, on one Review screen, before anything runs.

How it runs

  1. Sign in. One tenant, one sign-in, the same as Move / Copy.
  2. Add a pair. Source and destination side by side. On the left tick a whole library, or open one and tick folders and files; on the right pick a library or a folder. Tick "Use this destination for every new pair" to start the next pair with the same destination.
  3. Map columns. Columns are matched where the internal name is the same, then where the display name is the same. Nothing is matched by type alone: pick the rest from the list, or leave them, and a column left unmatched is not copied.
  4. Review. A card per pair with every column line, and the runs it will start. Plan only writes the run maps without copying anything.
  5. Run. Each run is a normal Move / Copy on the usual run screen, one after another. Cancel offers Finish the current item, Stop now, or Keep running. Nothing is left half-written: an item is either done or not started.

What you need

  • One account that can read every source and edit items in every destination library. Same tenant, one sign-in.

What it will not do

  • Document libraries only. Plain lists are not offered.
  • Same tenant only. Across two tenants, use one of the clone modes.
  • A run covers one source site and one destination site, so pairs across several sites run one after another.
  • Loading and saving the mapping as a workbook comes in a later step.
