Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information on ShareMaster.io. However, we use cookies to improve the performance and functionality of our website. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information and are used solely for technical purposes, such as maintaining session information and enhancing user experience.
The ShareMaster application
The statement above concerns this website. The ShareMaster desktop application, which you sign in to with a ShareMaster account, also sends us diagnostic and usage information so that we can find and fix faults. It is on by default at the Standard level, and you can change or switch it off at any time in the application under Settings → Diagnostics.
At the Standard level we receive application errors, which features were used, timings and outcomes, your application and operating system version, and an identifier for your account and installation. Site addresses, site and list names, folder and file names, and the addresses of accounts involved are replaced on your computer with a one-way code before they are sent, using a secret that stays on your computer. Error messages produced by Microsoft services are sent word for word, and those occasionally contain a file path or site address; we do not edit them, because editing them would remove what makes them useful for finding the fault.
The optional Detailed level, which is off unless you turn it on, additionally sends the real site, list and file names and account addresses. We normally ask you to enable it only while we are investigating a specific problem.
We never send the contents of your files, documents, list items or email, and never your passwords, tokens or SharePoint credentials. Standard information is kept for 180 days and Detailed information for 30 days, then deleted. To have the diagnostic information held for your account erased, contact us at privacy@sharemaster.io. We may use third-party services, such as analytics tools or social media widgets, which may place their own cookies on your device. These third-party cookies are governed by their respective privacy policies and are not under our control.
