System reports

Ready-made reports

Report definitions that ship with ShareMaster rather than ones you built, such as a document inventory and recently modified files. They sit in the same table as your saved reports; this tile opens it filtered to the built-in ones.

Reads only. Nothing in SharePoint is changed.

What it tells you

  • What ready-made reports are available without building anything.
  • What each one asks for, before you run it.

How it runs

  1. Open the list. No sign-in. This is the saved reports table, filtered to System.
  2. Run one. Sign-in happens at that point. A system report can also be copied and edited into one of your own.

How it works

There are three built-in reports. Document inventory lists every file in a library with its name, path, size, and who created and last modified it and when. Recently modified documents shows the same columns for files modified in the last 30 days, counted back from the day you set it up. Find duplicate files groups files that share the same name in the same folder and keeps only groups of two or more, with a count.

Each one works on a single document library that you choose when you run it, with no relationships to other lists. Once applied to that library it becomes an ordinary report definition, run by the same engine as the Custom report builder, and it can be saved and edited like one of your own.

What you need

  • Read access to the lists a report covers, at the point you run it.

What it will not do

  • Not released yet, along with the rest of the custom report builder.
